The beautiful Hawaiian islands set the locale for the tale of mystery and relationships in “Orchids and Sand” by Robert Reynolds
A military service member’s body is found along a rocky inlet on Oahu’s western coast and a search begins to determine why and how she got there. HPD detective Manny Piccolo’s investigation encounters the hapless poor coastal encampments, Honolulu’s well-to-do, and the military community, while juggling a tenuous relationship with lovely, but flawed Daniela Puzon.
Reynolds has written several books including “A Fine Gray Rain,” which chronicles his firsthand account of Mount Pinatubo’s 1991 volcanic eruption that devastated American military bases in the Philippines. A former U.S. Serviceman who served 27-months shore duty in Vietnam and returned there to work in a civilian capacity, he is retired from a successful career in retail loss prevention.
The 218-page book is available from www.lulu.com in print and e-book formats.
