Alexander Freitas

Alexander Freitas, 83, of Mililani, Oahu, died May 4, 2016, at Aloha Care Nursing and Rehab. Born in Holualoa, he was a retired U.S. Army command sergeant major and veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. June 25 at Waianae Sacred Hearts Church on Oahu. Info: (808) 258-7012.

He is survived by sons, Gordon Freitas of Honolulu, Alexander (Edilyn) Freitas Jr. of Colorado; sisters, Melveen (Donna) Kualii of Kailua-Kona, Margaret Isaacs of Waianae, Oahu, Myrtle Bush of Kailua-Kona; brother, James (Linda) Freitas of Kauai; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Leonette Abraham

Leonette Mapuana “Mapu” Abraham, 55, of Hilo died Dec. 16, 2015, at the Hilo Medical Center Born April 4, 1960, in Hilo, she was a registrar clerk for Waiakea High School and a member of Zion House of Praise Holiness Church.

Friends may from noon to 6 p.m. June 26 at the Haili Tent in Panaewa for a celebration and potluck luncheon. Condolences may be posted at homelanimemorialpark.com.

She is survived by husband, Willoughby Abraham of Hilo; son, Davis (Stacey) K. Abraham of Hilo; daughter, Naupaka Abraham of Lihue, Kauai; brother, Darrell Kuamoo of Hilo; one grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruta Kress

Ruta “Ruth” Kress, 93, of Kailua-Kona, died June 16, 2016, at her residence. Born July 4, 1922, in Plavinas, Latvia, she was a homemaker, a retired insurance company supervisor and a member of Latvian Zion Lutheran Church in Chicago.

Private service held.

She is survived by daughter, Eydie Potter; grandson, Michael Potter, both of Kailua-Kona.

Grace Moore

Grace Darlein Bobbette Moore, 90, of Volcano died June 10, 2016, at her residence. Born Dec. 21, 1925, in Weeping Water, Nebraska, she was an advertising executive for McInerny and a member of the Volcano Community Association.
