Police are renewing their request for information about an attempted robbery before 8:03 a.m. Jan. 27 in Hilo.

A 79-year-old woman was walking alone on the entrance ramp to a hotel in the 70 block of Banyan Drive when a man pulled on her purse.

She fell down, holding on to the purse as the suspect began pulling on it. She screamed for help and kept her hold on the bag as the man dragged her. The man, described as a “local male” in a light-colored shirt fled on foot without the purse.
