Aloha Performing Arts Company announces open auditions for volunteer actor/readers for its 23rd annual Original Play Festival, Aug. 17-20 at Aloha Theatre.
Seven plays will be cast by five directors at 6 p.m. June 26 at the Kainaliu theater. Auditions will consist of readings from the scripts. Plays are presented in staged reading format, with actors holding scripts, so memorization is not required, and newcomers are encouraged to audition.
Renee Monell will direct “Into the Fire” by Katherine Dubois and “Ebook Meets Treebook” by Rex McGregor; Paula Cornwell will direct “Water View” by Ray Arsenault and “Thank You, Auto Correct” by Cynthia Arsenault;Tiffany Kutsunai will direct “Sunburned” by Laurence Rosler; Felicity Johnson will direct “Final Appearance, also by Rosler; and Nicole Gour will direct “Aspects, a Restaurant & Lounge” by John Donnelly.
Once a week cast meetings begin on July 6; each play will have at least six rehearsals.
