VFW Post 12122 behind Kona Locksmith off Kaiwi Street has several events planned.
A sewing camp for ages 6-18 with hands-on intro to sewing and making a throw pillow is planned from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. Another sewing camp includes an intro to sewing and making an apron from noon to 3 p.m. Monday.
Sewing camp has another session from noon to 3 p.m. Monday with intro to sewing and making an apron. For either session call Jean at (831) 419-5439.
Two quarter-pound hot dogs with salad and dessert will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday for $5.
VFW will hold its monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18.

Future Medical Leaders
Andelen “Olelo” Losalio, a senior at Ke Kula o Ehunuikaimalino of Kealakekua, is a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Lowell, Massachusetts June 25-27.
The congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields. The purpose of this event is to honor, inspire, motivate and direct the top students in the country who aspire to be physicians or medical scientists to stay true to their dream and, after the event, to provide a path, plan and resources to help them reach their goal.
Olelo was nominated by Robert Darling, the medical director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists to represent Ke Kula o Ehunuikaimalino based on her academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine.
