Mabel De Rego
Mabel (De Coite Gomes) De Rego, 91, of Ahualoa died May 20, 2016, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born Nov. 25, 1924, in Ahualoa, she was a former usher at the Doc Hill Theatre and Tanimoto Theatre, and a former candy maker for T.H. Davies &Co., member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa and the Honokaa Senior Citizens Club.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. June 11 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa with a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Casual attire.
She is survived by sons, Michael (Laurine) De Rego, Mario (Vivien) De Rego, Mark (Brenda) De Rego, all of Ahualoa; daughter, Marlene (Phillip) Bugado of Paauilo; stepson, Dennis (Leilani) Vierra of Hilo; sisters, Eleanor Carvalho of Hilo and Mary Lou (Gilbert) Ferreira of Oahu; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

June Pearl Mary Gualdarama, 70, of Hilo died June 4, 2016, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born June 12, 1945, in Pahala, she was a homemaker and member of New Hope – Hilo.

Robert Susumu Kita, 85, of Keaau died May 9, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 6, 1931, in Hawi, he was a retired educator with the Hawaii and Colorado community colleges, Director of Hawaii Community College Job Experience Education Program, vocational education specialist for Alu Like, consultant for the Hawaii State Department of Corrections Education System, teacher at various Oahu public schools, JV baseball coach at Farrington High School and an Army Korean War veteran.

Leinora Pele Kukua Wright, 63, of Honaunau died April 26, 2016, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born July 4, 1952, in Kealakekua, she was a homemaker and a coffee and macadamia nut farmer.

Walter “Koya” Megumu Koyanagi, 77, of Kealakekua died May 6, 2016, at The Queen’s Medical Center. Born Sept. 12, 1938, in Honolulu he was a retired mason, member of the Parks and Recreation and Senior Bowling Leagues and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Friends may call at 2 p.m. June 11 at Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple Hall in Kealakekua for a 3 p.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn and flowers be omitted.

Hisako Hiraki, 96, of Hilo died June 1, 2016, at Pohai Malama. Born Aug. 24, 1919, in Kohala, she was a retired employee of Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and a kyodan member of the Hilo Higashi Hongwanji.
