Fire officials are investigating the case of a structure fire that destroyed a home in Pahoa.
Responding to the 10:24 a.m. Saturday alarm, firefighters arrived at 12-4919 Ahia Road to find a single-story home engulfed in flames, according to the Hawaii Fire Department. In all, 14 firefighters worked to quash the blaze. It was declared extinguished at 11:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported. The department listed the home, estimated to be valued at $130,000, as a total loss.
