Gregorio Arca

Gregorio Arca, 91, of Hilo died May 19, 2016, at his residence. Born in Manaoag, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a retired payloader operator for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. May 25 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. May 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial will follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

He is survived by wife, Pacita Arca of Hilo; son, Nestor (Juliet) Arca of Mountain View; daughters, Lynda Arca of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Rose (Lawrence) Kobayashi of Hilo, Elizabeth (Shane) Wakayama of Hilo; 11 grandchildren, four great-granddaughters, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Margaret Pahio

Margaret Ann Pahio, 66, of Hilo, died May 12, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born on April 15, 1950, in Hilo and was the president and owner of HMP, Inc. d.b.a. Business Services Hawaii.

Friends may call at 4:30 p.m. May 26 at New Hope Hilo for a 6:30 p.m. service. Burial will be held at 8:30 a.m. May 28 at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo. Casual attire is requested.

She is survived by son, Shon (Destiny Mayeda) Pahio of Papaikou; daughters, Kimberly (Scott Maluo) Pahio, Timbelyn Pahio, both of Papaikou; hanai son, Max Shimamoto Pahio of Papaikou; sisters, Bernadette (Marty) Parrish of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Christine (Jarry) Belledo of San Diego; seven grandchildren.

Jonathan Aipa

Jonathan Isamu Aipa, 54, of Mountain View died May 2, 2016. He was born April 20, 1962, in Honolulu.

He is survived by spouse, Darlene Kauai of Mountain View; sons, Keoni (Josie) Aipa, both Ioane Aipa of Honolulu; daughter, Sarah Jr. Aipa of Honolulu; sister, Jodie (Nathan) Kane of Honolulu; seven grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

William Esper

William Clair Esper, 78, of Kailua-Kona, died April 15, 2016, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born Dec. 30, 1937, in Dearborn, Mich., he was a bartender and an Army veteran.

Military honors and inurnment will be 9 a.m. May 27 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery.

There are no known survivors.

Ligaya Ignacio

Ligaya Simon Ignacio, 68 of Kapulena died May 10, 2016, at her home. Born Sept. 13, 1947, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte Philippines, she worked at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. May 27 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may call again at 8 a.m. May 28, 2016 at the church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Family requests casual attire be worn. Burial will be at Honokaa Catholic Church Cemetery.

She is survived by daughters, Leslie (Robert) Serrano of Redondo Beach, Calif., Leilani (Russell) Burks of Bellingham, Wash.; son, Paul (Ashley) Ignacio of Newcastle, Wash.; four grandchildren; sister, Leenah Alejo of Chicago; brothers, Ermie Madamba of Los Angeles, Vic Madamba of San Nicolas, Philippines; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mildred Kane

Mildred Liliu Kane, 90, of Hilo died May 8, 2016, at Pohai Malama Care Center. Born April 25, 1926, she retired as a sales clerk.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 27 at Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Burial will follow at Alae Cemetery.

She is survived by sons, Joseph (Fi Li) Kane of California, Michael (Luana) Kane of Mountain View; Fanny (George) Alcosiba of Keaau, Kathy (Daniel) Manuel of Kawaihae, Kathleen Kane, Maureen Kane , both of California; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gregoria Leyson

Gregoria “Gladys” Delapina Leyson, 86, of Hilo died April 28, 2016, at her home. Born in Kalaheo, Kauai, she was a homemaker and caregiver for the elderly for the State of Hawaii.

Friends may call at noon May 27 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 1:30 p.m. service. Burial follows at 3 p.m. at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived by children, Riley (Iris) Leyson, La Fawn (Wayne) Mayeda, and Kelly Leyson, all of Hilo, Gregory (Cheryl) Leyson of Mililani, Oahu, Kei Leyson of Indiana; sisters, Concepcion (Richard) Vidinha and Maximina Sahut, both of Kauai, Catherine Elaine Rego of Pearl City, Oahu; 21 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Tatsuko Nishimura

Tatsuko Nishimura, 91, of Hilo died April 17, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 25, 1924, in Hilo, she was a retired delinquent tax collection assistant for the State of Hawaii Department of Taxation and a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Buddhist Temple.

Private services held. No flowers. No monetary offerings.

She is survived by sons, Brian (Laurel) Nishimura, Eugene (Dora) Nishimura, both of Hilo, Kyle (Cindy) Nishimura of Waikoloa; brother, Tokiwo Nagata of Hilo; sister, Sue Saiki of Hilo; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
