Instructor Lisa Louise Adams will offer a pair of six-week workshops on handbuilding with clay at Volcano Art Center.
During the workshop participants will play with clay, learn how to coil, pinch and slab-build form, manipulate and carve then let dry, get fired, paint on glazes and fire again. For those who know how to throw, wheels will be available.
The workshops will be held in afternoon and evening sessions. Tuesday evening workshops will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. starting May 31 while Thursday afternoon sessions will run 2:30-4:30 p.m. starting June 2. Cost for either workshop is $113 for VAC members and $125 for nonmembers, in addition to a $25 materials fee.
The Volcano Art Center’s Niualani Campus is located at 19-4074 Old Volcano Road in Volcano Village. No previous experience is needed. Bring your joy of discovery and sense of adventure.
