The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports (https://bit.ly/27qMqbv ) that Violesolo Tavita faces an attempted murder charge and two weapons counts in Saturday’s shooting of 60-year-old Tali Talitonu, who was reported in stable condition Sunday. Tavita’s bail was set at $250,000.
The victim’s nephew, Taleni Asuega, told the newspaper that up to 100 people had been entering the courtyard of the Samoa-Tokelau Seventh-day Adventist Church when a woman pulled out a gun and shot Talitonu in the back.
KHON-TV in Honolulu reported that relatives told the station that the victim knew the woman but their relationship is unclear. A motive for the attack is undetermined.
