The Waimea Consort will has canceled two performances of its concert, “Dynamic Duos,” highlighting choral works with shared themes and/or lyrics slated to start May 20.

The Waimea Consort will has canceled two performances of its concert, “Dynamic Duos,” highlighting choral works with shared themes and/or lyrics slated to start May 20.

The first concert was 7 p.m. May 20 at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and the second was 4 p.m. May 22 at Davies Chapel at Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Waimea. Both performances are free and open to the public.

The two concerts were to include versions of Psalm 96 in French and Latin by Dutch Renaissance composer Jan Peterson Sweelinck and contemporary Lithuanian composer Vytautas Miskinis. The consort will perform two versions of Ubi Caritas by 20th Century composer Maurice Durufle and contemporary composer Ola Gjeilo. Other composers included in this concert are Orlando di Lasso, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Anton Bruckner, Eric Whitacre and Morten Lauridsen.

Pat Pérez, president, of Waimea Consort, said the concerts have been postponed to the fall.
