Shyla “Shy” “Naleo” Naleo Ika Makani Medeiros-Dutton, 22, of Pahoa died April 10, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 30, 1994, in Hilo, she was a caregiver for Ohana Health Plan.

She is survived by sons, Gary Simpkins V and Gaihven Simpkins; parents, Ward Dutton Sr. and Tammy Medeiros-Dutton; brother, Sonny Dutton; sister, Chynalyn Dutton; grandfathers, Fred Perreira and Manuel Medeiros; boyfriend, Gary Simpkins IV.

Noboru Okamoto
Noboru Okamoto, 95, of Hilo died April 18, 2016, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired house painter, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission.
Private services were held. Family requests in lieu of monetary gifts and flowers, a remembrance in Noboru’s name may be made to Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission, 216 Mohouli St., Hilo, HI 96720.
He is survived by son, Ford (Sylvia Lee) Okamoto of Hilo; sisters, Chizuko Tarutani of Honolulu, Toshiko Okamoto of Hilo, Yoshiko Sasahara of Waipahu, Oahu; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
