Kilauea Drama and Entertainment Network announces auditions for its annual summer musical, Meredith Wilson’s “The Music Man.” Auditions will be held 6:30 p.m. on May 16-17 at Kilauea Military Camp’s Kilauea Theater.

“The Music Man” follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill, who poses as a boys’ band organizer and leader and sells band instruments and uniforms to the naive Iowa townsfolk, promising to train the members of the new band. But Hill is no musician and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons. His plans are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian. Musical favorites include “Seventy-six Trombones,” “Trouble,” “‘Till There Was You,” and “Gary, Indiana.”

The show is directed by Suzi Bond with musical direction by Chris Tomich. There are roles available for all ages. Come prepared to sing a song, and move on the stage, and dress comfortably.

Performances run July 8-24.
