The shops and art galleries of historic Holualoa Village will celebrate local art and music from 5:30-8:30 p.m. this evening.
More than a dozen studios and stores will stay open late to welcome friends and visitors with new art work, pupu and music. Specials for Mother’s Day will also be highlighted at many of the galleries.
Dr. Tim and Friends will be playing on the lanai of the Ipu Arts Plus Gallery at the north end of town and there will be another kanikapila on the lanai of the Holualoa Ukulele Gallery at the southern end of the village.
Koa Realty will have David Lawrence pumping out some rock ‘n’ roll in front of the old gas station across from the pink Kona Hotel.
Pat Pearlman Designs in the historic Kona Hotel will be spotlighting May’s birthstone: emeralds, which have long symbolized love and rebirth.
Matt and Mary Lovein will be featuring artist Sunny Pauole, who will be painting live at Holualoa Gallery. Outside, Kona Dogs Gourmet food truck will be serving up fresh grilled treats.
Glyph Art Gallery will be debuting new furniture and woodworking from David and Doni Reisland, including a fresh batch of their popular ikebana stands in koa and milo.
M. Field Gallery will have new paintings by Terry Field and The Pizza Rovers serving pizza just outside their old Holualoa Soda Works building.
