Lyle Hood
Lyle Earl Hood, 83, of Hawi, died April 13, 2016, at Kohala Hospital. Born in Paia, he was a retired mechanical engineer for C. Brewer Sugar in Pahala, Wailuku and overseas in Iran and Bumble Bee Sea Food in Long Beach, California; member of Kalahikiola Congregational Church; past treasurer and member of the Kohala Senior Citizens; 31st Degree Mason and past Lodge Master at the Golden Trowel Masonic Lodge in Norwalk, California, and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 30 at Kalahikiola Congregational Church in Kapaau for a celebration of life at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the Hawi County Cemetery.
He is survived by wife, Eileen Hood, of Hawi; son, Steven (Carol) Hood,m of Hawi; brother, Dale (Teresa) Hood, of Oahu; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Gregory Kaprielian
Gregory Gordon Kaprielian, 66, of Ocean View, died April 21, 2016. Born March 13, 1950, in Portland, Oregon, he was an Army veteran and worked in manufacturing as a sheet metal worker and previously in construction and drove tours and taxi in Kona.
Services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by mother, Irene Livingston, of Lebanon, Oregon; son, Joshua (Ashley) Kaprielian, of Kirkland, Washington; daughter Nicole (Aaron) Nakano of Aloha, Oregon; brothers, Mitch Kaprielian and Todd Livingston, both of Lebanon, Oregon; sister, Jennifer Thayer, of Lebanon, Oregon; grandson, Koby Nakano; and lifelong friend, Janelle Guidry.

Katsumi Yahiro
Katsumi Yahiro, 89, of Hilo, died April 11, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 8, 1926, in Waihee, Maui, he was a retired construction mechanic for Dole Pineapple Co. on Lanai and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.
Private services were held.
He is survived by wife, Yuriko Yahiro, of Hilo; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
