Douglas “Toki” Nakata Sr., 72, of Haina, Honokaa died April 16, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Haina, Honokaa, he was a retired boiler controller with the former Hamakua Sugar Co.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. April 27 at Honokaa Hongwanji Mission for an 11:30 a.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by companion, Michelle Rodrigues of Haina, Honokaa; brother, Sidney Nakata of Paauhau; son, Douglas Nakata Jr. of Paauhau; stepson, Ryler Hall of Waimea; stepdaughter, Ashley Hall of Honokaa; one granddaughter, two stepgrandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

John Kalani Sr.
John Kawaihakulani “Bubull” Kalani Sr., 67, of Hilo died March 25, 2016, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Kealakekua, he was a retired welder with the former Ka’u Sugar Co., a former resident manager of the Country Club Hotel, co-chair of the Punaluu Makahiki, did security for the Pahala Christmas Parade, was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. April 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. prayer service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. April 30 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 for a graveside committal service. The family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Christine Kalani of Hilo; Son, John (Deanine) Kalani Jr. of Hilo; daughters, Chantelle Kalani, Starlette Kalani, both of Hilo; hanai son, Shayden Requelman Kalani of Hilo; brother, Ernest (Gail) Kalani of Pahala; sisters, Leilani Aldaya, Maryjane (Raymond) Ballio, both of Pahala, Kalei (Richard) Clay of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jonathan “Jonjay” Ikaika Salinas, 22 of Kailua-Kona died April 17, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Nov. 3, 1993, he was a service advisor for Lex Brodie’s Tire Co. and a salesman for Goodyear Tire Co, and a produce delivery driver for Honaunau Produce. He belonged to the Kai E Hitu and Kawaihae Canoe clubs, and was a member of Team Mansu Car Club, Kahikolu Congregational Church and New Hope Christian Fellowship.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 30 at Kahikolu Congregational Church in Napoopoo for a 10 a.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn.

Skye Kahealeilani Noah, 19, of Pahoa died March 28, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Waimea, she was a homemaker.

Graciano “Rocky” Jesus del Mar, 66, of Mountain View died April 5, 2016, at his residence. Born May 16, 1949, in Pepeekeo, he was a retired chef and drummer.

Jerry Don Cox, 64, of Ocean View died April 12, 2016. Born June 19, 1951, in Dallas, he was a painter in the construction industry.

Sumie Onaga
Sumie Ueda Onaga, 99, of Papaikou died April 15, 2016, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in 1917 in Paukaa Mauka, she worked at Hawaii Importing and C. Brewer Crop Log Laboratory, was a homemaker and member of Papaikou Hongwanji Mission and Honomu Henjoji Mission.
Private services were held.

Nobuko Tokeshi
Nobuko “Betty” Tokeshi, 88, of Wailuku, HI, and formerly of Piihonua died March 18, 2016, at the Maui Memorial Medical Center. Born in Hilo, was a retired warehouse clerk for Divaco, member of the Taishoji Soto Mission and the Piihonua Community Association.
Private family services were held in Hilo. The family requests monetary donations be omitted.
She is survived by sons, Brian (Faith) Tokeshi of Maui, and Daryl Tokeshi of Hilo; daughter, Gayla (Dennis) Pirtle of Colorado; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
