Noa Kekuewa Lincoln will headline this month’s Hanohano O Kona lecture series Wednesday at West Hawaii Civic Center.
Lincoln is an assistant professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the Tropical Plant and Soil Science department. He recently completed his doctorate at Stanford University, and has worked on food systems and agriculture in Brazil, New Zealand, the American Southwest, and elsewhere in the Pacific. His work now is focused on indigenous crops and cropping systems. During Wednesday’s 5:30-7 p.m. lecture, he will be talking about this in relation to the “Kona Field System of Agriculture,” the extensive system that Hawaiians developed in the Kona area using sophisticated methods of dryland agriculture.
