W. Noelani de la Cruz

W. Noelani de la Cruz, 77, of Hilo died Feb. 13. 2016. She was born July 27, 1938, in Kalamaula, Molokai.

Friends may call from 4 to 5 p.m. April 20 at Ballard Family Mortuary for viewing. A service is scheduled at 6 p.m.

She is survived by son, Donn de la Cruz of Hilo; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Daisy Ho

Daisy K.C. Ho, 96, of Hilo died March 17, 2016, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Pahala, she was a retired office clerk for both the U.S. Army Recruitment Office at the Kilauea Military Camp and the State Employment Office and formerly employed at the Pahala Post Office and the former Chong Store in Kapapala.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 21 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. prayer service. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.

She is survived by son-in-law, Anthony Agbigay of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Winnie Chee of Honolulu, Helen Chee of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.

Eleuterio Juan

Eleuterio Pascua Juan, 64, of Keaau died March 29, 2016, at his residence. Born April 18, 2016, in San Nicholas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was employed by Puna Certified Landscaping Co. and was a member of the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. April 22 at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. April 23 at the church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Casual attire and flowers are welcomed; burial to follow at the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.

He is survived by wife, Soledad Juan of Keaau; daughters, Joyce Juan of Oahu, Jenny King of Keaau; son, Glenn Juan of Keaau; sister, Jurlita (Pepito) Santos of Manila, Philippines; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Beatrice Cho

Beatrice Keonaona Cho (Madawi), 81, of Honaunau died March 28, 2016, at The Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. Born Jan. 2, 1935, in Honaunau, she was a housekeeper and worked front desk at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel, was co-owner of H. Cho Enterprises, owner of Cho’s Lei Stand at Kona International Airport, a plumeria and carnation farmer, a master lei designer and a member of Saint Benedict’s Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. April 22 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Honaunau for a 7 p.m. service. An all-night vigil will follow at Henry Cho Jr.’s residence. Friends may also call from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on April 23 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Mass to follow at 11 a.m. with burial at the church cemetery to follow shortly after. She is survived by sons, Donovan (Roberta) Cho, Henry (Gayle) Cho Jr. and Wesley Cho, all of Honaunau; hanai sons, Donald Sasaki of Kainaliu, Herring Kalua of Hilo, and Warren and Dewey Matsumoto of Kalaoa; daughters, Sharilyn Dumaguin, Karen (Charles) Nahale and Joycelyn (Daryl) Willingham, all of Honaunau; hanai daughter Dee Ono of Captain Cook; brothers, Clifford (Annette) Madawi of Honalo, Michael (Julie) Madawi of Florida, Glenn (Beverley) Madawi of Washington; sister, Barbara Jane Madawi of Kealakehe; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
