Parker School Dramatiques presents “Aida,” a musical drama of an epic tale of love, loyalty and betrayal by Elton John and Tim Rice, as the school’s spring production.

Winner of four 2000 Tony Awards, “Aida” is the story of an enslaved Nubian princess who finds her destiny entangled with those of an Egyptian solider and the pharaoh’s daughter. She must weigh her heart against the responsibility she faces as leader and liberator of her people. Based on the opera by Giuseppe Verdi, Elton John and Tim Rice’s “Aida” features an award-winning score with rock numbers and heart-wrenching ballads to bring this timeless love story into a new era.

“Aida” will be performed 7 p.m. April 21, 23 and 29 and 2 p.m. April 24 and May 1. Adults and children age 8 and older are recommended to attend this play. Tickets are available at the door and are $10 for general admission and $5 for students.

Dramatiques is Parker School’s after-school performing arts program that consists of students in grades six through 12, who offer two community productions, one in the fall and spring each year.
