Kai Opua’s Dog Paddle Regatta is Sunday in Kailua-Kona.
Registration for the event, now in its second year, starts at 8 a.m. and the race runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Kailua Pier. Awards will be given in small, big and stuffed dog divisions.
Entry is by donation of $15 to compete one dog, one human and one standup paddleboard. A portion of the entry fee goes to the Hawaii Island Humane Society.
The Dog Paddle is being held in conjuction with the club’s annual Pau Hana Regatta.
