Burglary

A woman’s ex-boyfriend reportedly stole her current boyfriend’s wallet from her apartment on the 74-0800 block of Iwalani Place at 8 a.m. March 24.

A man stole a woman’s wallet from her house on the 77-100 block of Mahiehie Street on March 29, then used some of the cards from Bank of America Merrill Lynch. The wallet included her driver’s license, two credit cards and her HMSA health card. The man charged $22.89 at Safeway, $536.66 at Walmart, $29.36 and $56.40 at Captain Cook Automotive to the credit card. He also used the debit card, and charged $34.86 at Hy Store, and $16 at Denny’s Restaurant. A Walmart employee was able to identify the man as a school classmate.

A burglary was reported on March 30 at the 78-6800 block of Alii Drive.

Someone stole an Apple Macbook pro on March 29 from an apartment on the 78-0200 Manukai Street. They may have entered by the unlocked screen door.

Unlawful Control of a Propelled Vehicle

A man reported his ex-girlfriend did not return his vehicle, which was later found abandoned in the area of Milolii and Highway 11. The 51-year-old man made the report about the missing 2000 Volkswagon, which he loaned to the woman. He “pleaded for her to return” the vehicle, and the woman would not tell him where she was. He decided to call police about it and the 43-year-old woman would not return his calls. When the vehicle was found he signed a waiver of no prosecution against her.

A blue 2007 Nissan Versa with plate HHN 441 was stolen between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. March 18 on Hawaii Belt Road near the intersection with Milolii Road.

A grandfather loaning a white 2000 Nissan XTerra to his 17-year-old granddaughter led to a search for the driver. The man, guardian of the girl, loaned her the car on March 25. By 10 a.m. March 27 he called police, telling them that she was “’getting his stolen wallet back’ as she had “tracked down the responsible thief,” according to the report. She didn’t provide any additional information. The vehicle has plate HLW 188, with a white sticker saying “action” on the rear door above the window and on the rear passenger side bumper there is a black sticker of a woman holding a fishing pole.

A truck was stolen from a parking lot in the 75-5600 block of Palani Road on March 31. The man parked the cream 1986 Toyota pickup with license ZCX 336 and went to work at 7:30 a.m. When he returned at 11:45 a.m. the truck, valued at $6,000. was gone.

Unlawful entry into motor vehicle

A backpack was stolen out of a windowless vehicle with plate HKD 068 some time between 10 p.m. March 19 and 1 a.m. March 20 while it was parked on the 75-5800 block of Alii Drive. The backpack contained three knives and two books.

The custody exchange of a 7-year-old boy turned into a fight between his parents on March 20 at Sandy’s Drive-in. The witness, the man’s girlfriend, said she waited in the car when she saw what looked like a verbal altercation near the mother’s car. She got out of the vehicle as her boyfriend put the boy in the passenger side rear seat. The mother grabbed the boy while he was inside the car and entered the girlfriend’s car without permission. The mother remained in the car, punching and kicking the boy’s father in the face and right side of his body.

A backpack containing firefighter gear worth $860 was stolen from a Servpro business truck while it was parked at a restaurant on the 74-5400 block of Kaiwi Street. The man left the truck at 2:15 p.m. and returned at 2:45 p.m. to find it missing. The bag is a black 511 backpack.

Someone stole items worth about $300 from a Terminix truck on March 23 while it was parked on Alii Drive. The person apparently entered through the driver’s side front window, which is broken.

A man had camping gear totalling $299 from a white Jeep SUV parked on Kilohana Street some time between 7:08 p.m. March 23 and 6:05 a.m. March 24. The SUV has a license plate of HYY 422.

Someone reportedly stole audio equipment from a pickup on March 31 while it was parked on the 75-5800 block of Alii Drive. The maroon 1995 Toyota Tacoma with plate HUX 416 had three pieces of Alpine brand equipment stolen: a stereo/mp3/CD player from the dash, a speaker in box from behind the seat, and an amplifier.

A man’s backpack was stolen from his van on March 31 in the 74-0900 block of Kealakehe Street. He parked the van in his driveway and went around the corner for 15 minutes. When he returned the driver’s side van door was open and his backpack, valued at $70, was gone.

A woman’s pickup truck was stolen after she left it unlocked, with the windows down and keys on the dashboard April 2 in the 75-5500 block of Kuakini Highway. The woman left the vehicle to go speak with some friends.

An employee took a woman’s parking pass at his boss’ direction and later returned it to her April 2 in the 76-6200 block of Alii Drive. The man entered the vehicle, which he did not have permission to do so. He later returned the parking pass to the driver.
