Firefighters responded to the blaze at 3:10 p.m. The building was unoccupied at the time and the owner’s name was not disclosed.
The fire was deemed a threat to a separate residence on Manono Street. Two crews used tactical attack lines to halt the spread of the flames, protecting the Manono residence, according to a departmental news release.
HPD erected roadblocks at the intersection of Piilani and Mililani streets, as well as the intersection of Hualani and Mililani streets.
The total damage was still undetermined as of Monday afternoon. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
