Alfred L. Lacro, 91, of Kailua-Kona and Naalehu died March 2, 2016, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Waimea, Kauai, he was a retired machinist supervisor with the former Ka‘u Sugar Co., member of the Naalehu Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a U.S. Arm veteran and coach to countless youth of team sports in Ka‘u.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. April 1 at Naalehu Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also at 8 a.m. April 2, at Naalehu Sacred Heart Catholic Church fir a 10 a.m. Mass, followed by burial at the Naalehu Community Cemetery. The family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Esther Lacro of Naalehu; sons, Burt (Jean) Castro of Riverdale, Ga., Al (Luanne) Lacro of Graham, Wash., Vernon (Amanda) Lacro of Las Vegas, Everett Lacro of Hilo, Ronald (Jon Schum) Lacro of Boston, Jon (Sheri) Lacro of San Diego; daughters, Cynthia (Rich Faith) Lacro of West Linn, Ore., Charlene (Ron) Nilson of Green Valley, Ariz., Janice (Steve Robertson) Lacro of Kailua-Kona; brothers, John Lacro of Mililani, Oahu, Julian (Annie) Lacro, Edward Lacro, both of Waimea, Kauai; sister, Margaret Lacro of Waimea, Kauai; hanai daughters, Kapiolani (Wally) Ma, Lisa Lorenzo, both of Honolulu, Elizabeth Morgan of Waimea; 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
