The Mac-A-Thon, Hawaii Island’s oldest foot race, greeted more than 200 runners in Honaunau on Saturday morning.
The race offered distances of 5K or 10K on the old government road that extends from the sacred waters of Honaunau Bay to Napoopoo.
Volcano’s Billy Barnett won the 10K race in 35:29 — nearly three minutes faster than runner-up finisher Glen Weissman (38:23).
Allen Ryan took the 5K, coasting in with a time of 18:13.
