The Big Island is under a flash flood warning and flood advisory, with much the the danger area on the north side of the island.

The flood advisory runs until 5 p.m. today and the warning runs until 5:30 p.m. today.

The National Weather Service warning said radar shows heavy rain near Waimea and over the Mamalahoa Highway between Kalaoa and the Waikoloa junction.

There is also “persistent heavy rain between Hilo and Hakalau,” with flooding likely on roads and in streams in the area.
