Hawaii Island police are seeking witnesses to an assault and criminal property damage incident early Monday in Pepeekeo.

A 21-year-old Hilo woman reported that at approximately 3 a.m. Monday, she was traveling on Kumula Street in Pepeekeo when a car being operated by an unknown woman intentionally struck her car, almost causing her to lose control of the vehicle, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The unknown woman then exited her sedan near the second entrance to the Kulaimano Housing Complex, where she struck the victim’s car several times, causing damage. The unknown woman then struck the victim on the head, causing pain and injury.

The unknown woman was described as being Polynesian, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds with brown eyes and long brown hair. Her car was described as a light-colored Saturn two-door sedan.
