KAILUA-KONA — Hawaii Island’s confirmed dengue fever case count held steady at 262 Tuesday, according to the state Department of Health.
Health officials on Tuesday announced no new cases of the mosquito-borne virus on Hawaii Island. The most recent case was announced by the state on March 10.
None of the cases remain potentially infectious to mosquitoes and the last onset of illness was March 4, according to the DOH.
Of the confirmed cases, 236 are Hawaii Island residents and 26 are visitors. Forty-six of the cases have been among children.
Officials have excluded 1,512 reported cases based on test results and/or not meeting case criteria since the start of the outbreak in September 2015.
