KAHULUI, Maui (AP) — A second-degree murder investigation is under way after the body of a man in his 30s was found on Maui.

The Maui News reports (https://bit.ly/1RcIiRS) the man’s identity has not been released pending notification of his family.

Criminal Investigation Division Lt. Micah Adams said a passer-by spotted the body Saturday in brush at Naska Beach.

The body is believed to be that of a white male in his 30s, and Adams said he was found with injuries.

A truck that authorities think belonged to the man was found nearby with the windshield, windows and headlights broken.

Adams says investigators have yet to conclude if the vehicle damage is related to the death.

Police say an autopsy is pending.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
