Kona Spring Fest fundraiser planned
Kona Spring Fest will welcome the spring season with bouncy houses, games, activities, crafts, face painting, giveaways, vendors, food and drinks from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday on the Old Kona Airport soccer field.
Big Island Princess Parties will offer princess appearances and games. Attendees are encouraged to bring pop-up tents, blankets and chairs and enjoy live music by Keoni Thompson while children play at the park.
A free Easter Egg hunt is planned at noon. Bring a basket for eggs.
Tickets purchased before the event at konaspringfest.eventbrite.com are 20 percent off. All proceeds will benefit Kona Moms and Kuleana Education.

Homeschool conference set
The second annual Hawaii Island Homeschool Network conference will be April 4 at North Hawaii Education and Research Center in Honokaa.
The featured session will be “The Five Habits of Highly Successful Homeschoolers,” with keynote speakers Oliver DeMille and Rachel DeMille. The event will also include sessions for new and continuing homeschooling families including those about blended learning, unschooling, extension courses and activities, college for homeschoolers, experienced homeschool family panels and transitioning to homeschooling. Also included will be a resource fair, a supervised student activity room, student showcase featuring science fair presentations, time for families to conduct a curriculum swap and field trip tours through the Heritage Center at the North Hawaii Education and Research Center.
Online registration is $25 per family through Monday. After that, registration will increase to $45 per family, or $50 at the door.
Volunteers are needed as supervisors for the student rooms. For a 30-minute volunteer shift, families will get a discount and pay $17 per family registration. Info: hawaiihomeschoolnetwork.com/2016-schedule-and-sessions.html.
