Vera Robinson
Vera Marie Robinson, 92, of Kailua-Kona, died Feb. 11, 2016, at a private care home. Born Dec. 13, 1923, in Arnold, Penn., she was a retired professor of nursing and chairwoman for the Department of Nursing, California State University at Fullerton, an author and an Army nurse during World War II.
Private services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Friends of Nursing, P.O. Box 735, Englewood, Colo., 80151.
She is survived by daughters, Beth Robinson of Kohala, Elaine Robinson of Oklahoma City; son, William Robinson of Las Vegas; a hanai granddaughter and great-granddaughter.

Yoshiko Kadota
Yoshiko Kanemori Kadota, 99, of Hilo died Feb. 12, 2016, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Volcano, she was a homemaker.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers of monetary gifts.
She is survived by daughters, Charlene Nishioka of Torrance, Calif., Clarice (Evan) Leung of Monterey Park, Calif.; son, Roland (Frances) Kadota of Hilo; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Kiichi Fukuchi
Kiichi “Fred” Fukuchi, 94, of Hilo, died Feb. 8, 2016, at home. Born July 25, 1921, in Hilo, he was a retired maintenance supervisor for the Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation and U.S. Army World War II veteran.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
He is survived by daughter, Sharon (Dereck) Botelho of Hilo; son, Curtis Fukuchi of Arlington, Texas; brothers, Bruce (Barbara) Fukuchi of Honolulu, Frederick (Peggy) Fukuchi of Hilo; sisters, Irene Sadler of Williamsburg, Va., Betty Hamakawa of Hilo; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Patrick Conner
Patrick “Pat” Gerald Conner, 67, of Kailua-Kona, died Feb. 19, 2016, at his residence. Born June 16, 1948, in Hayden, Colo., he was a graphic artist, copywriter, editor, an acrylic paint artist, musician, former ad agency business owner and the author of “The Thunder Valley” trilogy: “The End of the Computer,” “The Final World Order,” “The First Commune,” “The Scientists” and “Fireside Stories.” He was a former member who served on the church council of Hope Chapel Kona, a former mini church assistant and later pastor at Church on the Way in Van Nuys, Calif., and former lay chaplains at Kona Community Hospital.
Private service to be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Colleen Conner of Kailua Kona; daughters, Cate (Brian) Brooks of Portland, Ore., Malia Conner of Kailua-Kona; son, Michael Conner of Portland, Ore.; and three granddaughters.

Ronald Barawis Jr.
Ronald Kimo Valeriano Barawis Jr., 38, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 5, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kealakekua, he was the owner and tattoo artist at Bar Ink.
