Papa Mu Native Hawaiian LLC gathered island chefs, retail grocery stores and leaders of the tourism industry along with local hunters, fishermen and food producers Friday at Waikii Ranch to discuss the need for authentic Hawaiian food that is imu cooked and available commercially.

Collaborating on this event was Chef Trina Kahihikolo of the Clubhouse at Hokulia, and Volcano Winery, Mehana Brewery and Hirabara Farms.

Papa Mu Native Hawaiian is the exclusive holder of a U.S. Department of Agriculture, federal certification for imu cooked products in the nation. The company plans to expand sales of its imu cooked, kalua products to domestic and international markets this year.
