A magnitude-3.6 earthquake was recorded Wednesday evening west of the Kilauea Volcano summit,according to the U.S. Geological Survey Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.

A magnitude-3.6 earthquake was recorded Wednesday evening west of the Kilauea Volcano summit,according to the U.S. Geological Survey Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.

The earthquake struck at 6 p.m. about 2.4 miles west the summit, according to the observatory. It had a registered depth of 4.1 miles.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not issue a statement following the temblor.
