Annabel Spielman will teach a four-day watercolor workshop at the Kona Arts Center in Kainaliu in March.
The workshop will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 7, 8, 10 and 11. The cost is $200.
Each class starts with a quick demonstration and students then get to paint. Spielman will also come around offering advice and review so students learn to evaluate their own work. Special consideration will be given to beginners, but those with some experience will be introduced to techniques that loosen up their approach and stimulate creativity.
Spielman is a working artist who currently teaches on Kauai. She also travels around the island exploring with her paintbrush as she paints plein air. Several galleries on Kauai carry her work. She has a degree in fine arts from the University of Texas and has been involved in all aspects of art since arriving in Hawaii in 1976. In addition, she has taught at KAC for many years.
