Clyde Elliot Beaudet, 77, Kailua-Kona died Dec. 17, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Nov. 2, 1938, in Pahala, he was a foreman, a cowboy and heavy equipment operator for Hualalai Ranch, a cowboy for Huehue Ranch, a dishwasher at the Kona Inn, truck driver for Red Hunt Construction Co., heavy equipment operator for Volcanite Construction Co., bulldozer operator for Keauhou Kona Construction Corp., a deck hand for Henry Chee, a boat captain, co-founder of Hualalai Archery Club, member of the Kona Archery Club, Kahauloa Archery Club, National Field Archery Association, 4H, T.G.I.F. Mixed Bowling League, former member of the Kona Mauka Trollers and the Kona Iki Trollers.
Services were held.
He is survived by sons, Rich (Kathy) Beaudet of Honomalino, Bruce (Audrey) Beaudet of Kalaoa, Robin (Sylvia Cambra) Beaudet of Pebble Beach; daughters, Debra Wong Yuen of Waimea, Lorelei (Ryan) Grace of Puukala; brothers, Lynn (Jennifer) Beaudet of Ocean View, David (Thea) Beaudet of Pahoa; sisters, Leilani Beaudet of Kaloko Mauka, Sonja (George) Berdon of Ocean View, Paulette Spencer of Kalaoa; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous niece, nephews, and cousins.

Gilberta Evangelista
Gilberta Haunani Evangelista, 64, of Papaikou died Jan. 20, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 25, 1951, in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.
Services were held.
She is survived by sons, Paulino Evangelista of Arizona, Jamie (Suellen) Evangelista of Papaikou; daughters, Kelly (Martmiano) Evangelista of Honomu, Tracie Evangelista, Kristle (Sheyla) Evangelista, both of Papaikou; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Frank (Dayle) Santos of Hawaiian Paradise Park; sisters, Rosemary (Rowland) Tavares of Kaumana, Marie (Alvin) Sadino, Lurline Milare, both of Pahoa, Nellie (Ben) Fejeran of Panaewa, Martha (Walter) Ahuna, Ida (Jesse) Perez, both of Keaukaha, Bernie (Robert Sr.) Soares of Papaikou, Teresa Ignacio of Laupahoehoe, Etta Nacnac of Honokaa.

Betty Matsu
Betty Maura Matsu, 87, of Hilo died Feb. 1, 2016, at a private care home. Born Nov. 21, 1928, in Honolulu, she was a retired receptionist for the Hawaii Tribune-Herald.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 22 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo, for a visitation. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. Feb. 23 at the mortuary for a 10 a.m. service. Burial will follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn. Lorena Mae Figueroa, 85, of Kurtistown died Feb. 8, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Oklahoma, she was a homemaker and member of the Glad Tidings Church.

Doris Jacober
Doris J. Jacober (nee Doris Jean Lund), 92, of Sun City, Ariz., and formerly of Waikoloa died Jan. 26, 2016, in Freedom Plaza, Peoria, Ariz. She was president of the Kona Board of Realtors in 1999.
Friends may call noon Feb. 24 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery for a graveside committal service.

Rodney Medeiros
Rodney Gene “Chicken Man” Medeiros, 68, of Papaaloa died Feb. 5, 2016, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born Feb. 21, 1947, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a supervisor for the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and retired as a laboratory technician for U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 23 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. service. James “Jimmy” Correa, 96, of Hilo died Feb. 7, 2016. Born in Hilo, he was a retired recreation leader with the County of Hawaii, Department of Parks and Recreation, a pump operator with the County of Hawaii, Department of Sewers and Sanitation, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a coach and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo Catholic Youth Organization, Big Island and Orchid Island Umpires Associations, Papaikou Senior Citizens, and American Legion Posts 3 and 16.

Manuel Gilbert De Souza, 82, of Pepeekeo died Jan. 29, 2016. He was born Sept. 3, 1933, in Pepeekeo.

Parley Ulpiano Keahi “Bear” Tajon, 69, of Pepeekeo died Feb. 5, 2016, at home. Born March 16, 1946, in Hakalau, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Department of Transportation Highways Division and a U.S. Army veteran, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints, Honomu Branch Koa Puna.

Susan Oandasan Galvez, 50, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 12, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 3, 1965, in Manila, Philippines, she was a housekeeper at the Four Seasons Resort and the former Kona Surf Resort and cashier at the Keauhou KTA.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Feb. 26 at her residence at 75-237 Pumehana St. in Kailua-Kona for an all-night vigil. Friends may also call at 10 a.m. Feb. 27 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona for an 11 a.m. Mass with burial to follow in the Holualoa Catholic Cemetery. Born Nov. 14, 1934, in Santa Monica, Calif., she was a registered nurse for Kona Community Hospital, a Hospice nurse, lifetime member of Kona Sailing Club, Kona Hiking Club, Sierra Club, Mediation Services and Help Line volunteer.
