Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person wanted in connection with a theft investigation.

At about 5 p.m. Feb. 1, a man left a retail establishment on East Makaala Street in Hilo without paying for items valued over $150, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

The suspect’s image was captured on surveillance video. He is described as Caucasian, about 6 feet tall with brown hair and a slim build. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue surf shorts.

Anyone with information about the identity of the person in the photo should call Officer William Brown at 961-2213 or the department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
