Tacos with salad and dessert will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
The VFW Auxiliary will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and the Marine Corps League meets at 11:30.
The public is invited to a bingo dinner with chili and rice Saturday. Cost for the meal and two bingo cards is $10. Dinner os from 5 to 6 p.m. and bingo with prizes is from 6:30 to 8.

Read Aloud Shakespeare group meets
The Read Aloud Shakespeare group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Keauhou to read “Love’s Labour’s Lost.” Shakespeare fans are invited to bring a copy of the play and join in. The group meets monthly. Attendees take turns reading. No previous Shakespeare or acting ability is required.

Buddhist temple plans pancake breakfast
A pancake breakfast, along with a plant and baked goods sale will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Daifukuji Buddhist Temple, 79-7241 Mamalahoa Highway next to Teshima’s restaurant in Honalo.
The event is a benefit for temple’s women’s association. Tickets are $7 each and will be sold at the door. Each ticket is good for one breakfast platter and coffee, tea or juice.

Camp Tarawa Detachment meets
The Camp Tarawa Detachment No. 1255 of the Marine Corps League will hold its monthly meeting Saturday at the VFW Post, 74-5543 Kaiwi St., Suite 185A, behind Kona Locksmith.
A no-host lunch begins at at 11:30 a.m. and a business meeting starts at 1 p.m. All Marines and Navy Corpsmen, serving, retired or reserve, and their spouses are invited. Dress is resort casual.

AARP driving class planned
Kona Palisades Association is sponsoring an AARP Smart Driver class at 1 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Palisades Recreation Center on lower Kaiminani Drive.
The class is geared toward the older driver. It does not include driving or written tests only informative quizzes. It covers subjects that may affect drivers as they age, such as hearing, eye sight, reflexes, safety rules, road rage and rules of the road. Those who complete the class may receive a discount on their insurance.
