A man who allegedly took a purse from a vehicle and then used debit cards inside to make unauthorized purchases in Pahoa and Hilo is wanted by police for questioning.

A man who allegedly took a purse from a vehicle and then used debit cards inside to make unauthorized purchases in Pahoa and Hilo is wanted by police for questioning.

A 34-year-old Pahoa woman reported that around 8:40 p.m. Feb. 5, someone removed a purse from her sport utility vehicle while it was parked off Highway 130 in Pahoa. Her debit card and EBT card were later used at businesses in Pahoa and Hilo, according to Hawaii County police.

Police on Friday released a still image of a man wanted for questioning in connection Feb. 5 incident and are hoping the public can identify him.

Anyone who recognizes the man is urged to call the department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
