Seniors group plans movie day

The Kailua-Kona Seniors meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at West Hawaii Civic Center for a movie day. This month’s movie is “Princess Bride,” a comedy directed by Rob Reiner with a cast including Mandy Patinkin, Cary Elwes and Robin Wright.

Lokahi Treatment Centers receives accreditation

CARF International announced that Lokahi Treatment Centers has been accredited for its integrated outpatient substance abuse and mental health services. The three-year accreditation applies to outpatient treatment programs, integrated alcohol and other drugs and mental health services for adults, children, adolescents, and criminal justice. It is the fifth consecutive three-year accreditation the international accrediting body has awarded to Lokahi Treatment Centers.

Lokahi Treatment is a nonprofit with offices in Hilo, Kona, Waikoloa, Pahoa, Honokaa, and Kohala.

Nominations sought for food manufacturer awards

The Annual TASTE Awards presented by the Hawaii Food Manufacturers Association will be held on May 21 at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel, recognizing individuals, companies and products throughout Hawaii that have demonstrated exceptional performance, innovation and contribution to the manufacturing industry and to the community.

Nominations are being accepted through Feb. 26. The nomination process is open to everyone, and self-nominations are encouraged. Submit nominations at: https://www.foodsofhawaii.com/taste-awards/taste-awards-2016/.

Awards will be presented in 10 categories: Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Manufacturer of the Year Large-Company (50 or more employees), Manufacturer of the Year Small-Company (49 or less employees), Start-up Manufacturer of the Year, Product of the Year Award, Advocate of the Year Award (non-HFMA companies are eligible to be nominated), Supplier of the Year, Community Service Award, Innovative Marketing Award (non-HFMA companies are eligible to be nominated), Hawaiian Agriculture Award.
