Hawaii Island police are continuing to investigate a suspicious device found Wednesday at a charter school in Kau.

Hawaii Island police are continuing to investigate a suspicious device found Wednesday at a charter school in Kau.

At about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the U.S. Army’s Explosive Ordnance Detail from Oahu removed the suspicious device and took it to a safe location, where it was detonated.

Preliminary tests conducted were inconclusive as to the contents of the device.

The investigation is continuing.
