Benjamin Borromeo

Mr. Benjamin “Ben” Tagama Borromeo, 45, Waikoloa, died Jan. 12, 2016, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born in Solsona, Philippines on Aug. 23, 1970, he was a houseman at the Hilton Waikoloa Village and a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Feb. 19 at his residence at 68-1093 Kioula Place in Waikoloa for an all night vigil. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Feb. 20 at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea for a 10 a.m. mass; burial will follow at the Waimea Catholic Cemetery. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his wife, May Borromeo of Waikoloa; son, Jeremiah Borromeo of Waikoloa; parents, Aveline and Apolinario Borromeo of Kapaau; brothers, Marcial (Porfiria) Borromeo of London, England, Aurelio (Everly) Borromeo and Pedro (Lisa) Borromeo, all of Honolulu; sisters, Nathy (Remy) Ventura of Kapaau, Narcisa Borromeo of Waikoloa; mother-in-law, Cecilia Agustin of Waikoloa; brothers-in-law, Arnold (Lanie) Agustin, Glenn (Gilda) Agustin, Marc Anthony Agustin, and Ceasar Agustin, all of the Philippines; numerous aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Genevieve Ladra

Genevieve Ladra, 78, of Honokaa, passed away Jan. 15, 2016. Genevieve was born on Sept. 9, 1937, in Honokaa.

Celebration of life will be held at Our Lady of the Lourdes church, 45-5028 Plumeria Road, Honokaa 96727, on Saturday Feb. 20. Visitation starts at 8 a.m. service starts at 9 a.m.

She is survived by her grandson, Uriah Ladra of Hilo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary Mae “Aunty Fat” Kahalewela Kaupu, 76, of Kealakekua, died Jan. 24, 2016, at her residence. Born in Pahala on May 23, 1939, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Keei Ward.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 20, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kau ward in Naalehu for a 10:30 a.m. funeral service followed by burial at the Naalehu County Cemetery. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

She is survived by her sons, Larry (Dutchee) Kaupu, Jr., of Discovery Harbor, McKinley (Michelle) Kaupu and Rudolph (Corrine) Kaupu, all of Ocean View; hanai sons, Roy (Sunnia) Martines of Mt. Mrs. Evelyn “Nina” Tabayunda Casino, 72, Waimea, died Feb. 3, 2016, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Hilo on July 2, 1943, she was a retired dishwasher for Parker Ranch Broiler Restaurant.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Feb. 20 at New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in the Holomua Bldg. Bay No. 1 in Waimea for an 11 a.m. memorial service. The family requests casual attire and no flowers.

She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Cosit of Waimea; sons, Francisco Tabayunda and Richard (Trisha) Watai, all of Waimea; Daniel (Gladys) Ablao, Tane Tabayunda, and Randy Tabayunda, all of Waikoloa; sisters, Rose Sameshima of Maui, Lenora Alejo of Waikoloa, Yolanda (Dennis) Dean of Waimea, June Shirshac of Hilo, and Anita Kaolowi of Ookala; brothers, Johnny Iswan of Hilo, Benjamin (Janice) Ibana, and Gitilio (Charlotte) Ibana, all of Oahu; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
