Patti Pease Johnson will host a silk scarf painting workshop Feb. 27 at Volcano Art Center.
In this workshop, participants will paint their own 8-by-53-inch scarf using three colors of their choice, which will create many more colors on the silk. Attendees will first pick a main color, then, choose the other two after learning about color theory.
The “Paint Your Own Silk Scarf” workshop runs 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 27 27 at Volcano Art Center. Cost for the workshop is $50 for non-members and $45 for VAC members, plus a $10 supply fee per person. Beginner and intermediate artists are welcome.
Johnson will also offer a “Soft Pastel Still Life” workshop on March 5 at Volcano Art Center.
Johnson’s artwork can be found at galleries and shops across the state and in collections around the world. She lives in Keaau with her family and teaches painting at her home studio.
