A brush fire consumed about a quarter acre Monday near Highway 11 in Ka’u.
The fire, which ignited about 4 p.m., burned vacant land near Keaka Parkway, mauka of Highway 11, in Ocean View. No structures were damaged or injuries reported, said Hawaii Fire Department West Hawaii Battalion Chief Ty Medeiros.
It was declared extinguished about 6 p.m.
