Recycle Hawaii receives $20,000 grant
Recycle Hawaii received recently a $20,000 grant from the Swain Barber Foundation. Since 2008, the California based Foundation has provided support for various Recycle Hawaii outreach and educational programs including past efforts in the collection and recycling of electronic waste and home composting workshops islandwide to help reduce electronics and organic waste going to island landfills.
With funding from Swain Barber Foundation, Recycle Hawaii will participate in community events, starting with the Waimea Cherry Blossom Heritage Festival. Recycle Hawaii will also offer free workshops on home composting on Feb. 13 near Ocean View and on March 5 in Keaau.
