A motorcade tribute with the body of the late state Sen. Gilbert Kahele passed various sites in Hilo Wednesday.
Kahele died Jan. 26 after suffering a series of heart attacks. He was 73.
His family is holding a public celebration of life on Monday titled “Evening of Aloha.” It starts with visitation at 4 p.m. followed by services at 5 p.m. It will take place at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.
