Margaret F. Rouse

Margaret F. Rouse

Margaret F. Rouse, 82, of Kailua-Kona, was born in the Philippines on April 29, 1933, and died on Jan. 25, 2016. Margaret attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and was a retired travel agent.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 2 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by sons, Edward (Marie-anne) Rouse of Kailua-Kona; Sean (Pamela) Rouse of Berkeley, Calif.; Joseph (Lynne) Rouse of San Francisco; brother, Thomas Ford of Panay, Philippines; and three grandchildren.

Carlos Albuquerque

Carlos Albert Albuquerque, 61, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 26, 2016. He was born Jan. 14, 1955 in Santa Clara, Calif. Carlos was a cabinet maker most of is life.

The family has planned private services.

He is survived by his daughter, Jocelyn Weaver of Gearhart, Ore.; son, Jason Albuquerque of Sonora, Calif.; brothers, Phil Albuquerque of Scotts Valley, Calif., Timmy Albuquerque of Scotts Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.

Eileen Beers

Eileen Lillian Beers, 89, of Hilo, passed away Jan. 23, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Los Angeles on Feb. 9, 1926. She was a retired manicurist and a member of the Hawaii Island Adult Care.

No services.

She is survived by three daughters, Susan (Ronald) Carrico of Orange County, Calif., Tina Pittman of Fullerton, Calif., and Jeanne (John Flatley) Beers of Hilo; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.

Henry Young

Henry K. Young, 87, of Hilo died Jan 15, 2016. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired aircraft mechanic for Hawaiian Airlines, member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and a veteran of the Hawaii Army Air National Guard.

Friends may call 9–10 a.m. Feb. 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; memorial Mass at 10. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Sylvia Young of Hilo; sons, Gary (Charlene) Young of Fremont, California, Stephen (Ann) Young of Kaneohe, Alan Young of Honolulu; daughters, Laura Young of Honolulu, Jeannette (Samuel Peterson) Young of Waimea, Hawaii; brother, Herbert Young of Honolulu; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Gilbert Rios, Jr., 59, of Hilo died Jan. 10, 2016, at his residence. Born in Honolulu, he was a truck driver for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Carvalho of Pahoa, Melissa Victorino-Arruda of Hilo, Gilberlyn (Evan Kelsom) Rios of Hilo, Jeanine (Trysan) Sako of Kurtistown; mother, Katherine (Cecilio Rodrigues) Rios-Villanueva of Eden Roc; brother, Danny Rios of Hilo; sisters, Theresa Fernadez of Kauai, Rose Marie Rios of Hilo, Kathleen Rios of Hilo; 18 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Hideo Shimizu

Hideo Shimizu, 90, of Hilo died Jan. 24, 2016. Born Nov. 3, 1925, in Kealakekua, he retired as a self-employed auto body painter.

Mitsuye Inouye

Mitsuye “Mitzie” Miyamura Inouye, of Hilo died Jan. 7, 2016. She was born in Kaiwiki, Hilo.

Private services were held with inurnment at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Punchbowl, Oahu.

She is survived by sons, Lester (Karen) Inouye, Harvey Inouye, Russell (Gwen) Inouye; five grandchildren.

Michael Bond

Michael Arthur Bond, 66, of Pahoa died Jan. 20, 2016, at his residence. Born in Fall River, Mass., he was a retired mechanical quality engineer at the Naval Weapons Station in Corona, Calif. and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Private services were held.

He is survived by wife, Julia Bond of Pahoa; sons, Matthew (Liz) Bond of Riverside, Calif., Christopher (Cherie) Brandt of San Diego, Maxwell Glasheen of Tracy, Calif.; daughters, Megan Bond of Riverside, Calif., Amy Brown of Redlands, Calif.; sister, Eileen (George) Antonelli of Mebane, N.C.; 10 grandchildren.

Russell Fujino

Russell Masaji Fujino, 61, of Kealakekua died Jan. 21, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 2, 1954, in Kealakekua, he was a coffee and macadamia nut farmer.

Private service were held. Family requests no flowers and no koden.

He is survived by parents, Robert and Eloise Fujino; brother, Wendell (Bernie) Fujino; three nephews and a niece.

Lawrence Cohn

Lawrence “Larry’ William Cohn, 68, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 22, 2016, at his residence. Born Jan. 12, 1948, in Palo Alto, Calif., he spent his law career in private practice, served for a time as a per diem judge for the State of Hawaii.

A private ceremony will be held.

He is survived by wife, Cindy Cohn of Kailua-Kona; sons, Ben Cohn and Jason Cohn, both of Kailua-Kona; stepson, Jason Watford of Kailua-Kona; stepdaughters, Lauren (Jamie) Au Hoon of Waikoloa, and Lena (Elliot) Hunt of Atlanta; sisters, Cathy (Jess) Gilley of Redwood City, Calif., Janet (George) Borg of Shingle Springs, Calif.; numerous grandchildren.
