At 5:30 p.m. Thursday, 59-year-old Kyoung Sun Yoo of Yuseong Gu, South Korea, was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening and abuse of a family/household member. His bail was set at $8,000.
He is being held at the Kona police cellblock. Unless he posts bail, he will make his initial court appearance Friday.
The stabbing victim, a 52-year-old South Korean man, remains at North Hawaii Community Hospital in stable condition after being treated for puncture wounds to his chest and thigh. The abuse victim, a 52-year-old South Korean woman, was treated for a head injury at the hospital Wednesday and then released.
