Mabel Ichishita
Mabel Haruko Narahara Ichishita, 88, of Honolulu died Dec. 13, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 22, 1927, in Honolulu, she worked at the former Kona Laundry and Dry Cleaning in Kona and Island Sea Shells, Alfred Shaheen, and The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu and was member of Kumamoto Kenjin Kai and Fukuoka Kenjin Kai.
Private services were held.
She is survived by sons, Dale Ichishita of Honolulu, Roy (Shirley) Ichishita of New Jersey, Paul Ichishita of Honolulu; daughters, Naomi (Walter) Wipf of Honolulu, Laura (Daniel) Teruya of Honalo; brothers, Walter (Helen) Narahara, Harold (Fumiyo) Narahara, all of Honolulu, Herbert (Sonoe) Narahara of California; sister, Laura Akama of Honolulu; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Isami Ogata
Isami Ogata, 92, of Hilo died Dec. 10, 2015, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born Feb. 6, 1923, in Lihue, Kauai, he was the retired owner and mechanic for the former Ogata Repair Shop Inc., a World War II Army veteran, and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Waiakea Homestead Kumiai.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
He is survived by daughters, Diane (Greg) Nitta of Aiea, Oahu, Patricia Nagasaki of Hilo; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Norman Navarro
Norman John Navarro, 57, of Honaunau died Dec. 11, 2015, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 21, 1958, in Weymouth, Mass., he was a painter for Paramount Painting, a coffee farmer, martial arts practitioner and a Marine Corps veteran.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club at Honokohau Harbor for a celebration of life. The family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Teresa Navarro of Honaunau; father, Andrew (Lois) Navarro of Plymouth, Mass.; sisters, Deborah Navarro of Plymouth, Mass., Valerie Navarro, Lisa (Sam) Navarro, both of Wareham, Mass., Kerry Navarro of Plymouth, Mass., Jean-Marie Duval of the mainland; brothers, Mark Navarro of Hyannis, Mass., Russell (Patra) Letbetter of Ocala, Fla; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, grandnieces, grandnephews.

David Love
Mr. David Eugene Love, age 70, of Paradise Park, died Jan. 5, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Indianapolis on July 23, 1945, and was a retired builder and proprietor of DL Construction. He was a veteran and also retired from the United States Navy as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Specialist and was an avid golfer.
“Celebration of Life” service will be held at a later date. In lieu of koden (monetary offerings) and flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Hilo (1011 Waianuenue Ave.; Hilo, Hawaii 96720).
He is survived by wife, Catherine Love of Paradise Park; daughters, Alanna (Shane Uyetake) Love of Paradise Park and Christina (Jerome Torres) Love of Paradise Park; son, Mark Love of Paradise Park; one brother and two sisters-in-law; three grandsons; numerous nephews and nieces.

Ellen Cho, 78, of Keauhou Mauka died Jan. 16, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 6, 1937, in Hookena, she was a waitress at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel, Ocean View Inn and retired from Royal Kona Resort and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Jasmin Leialoha Teves, 35, of Honokaa, died Nov. 28, 2015, at The Queen’s Medical Center. She was an avid horseback riding enthusiast and enjoyed sharing her passion of hiking in Waipio Valley with others. Jasmin was a frequent vendor at the Waimea Midweek Farmers Market at the Pukalani Stables and encouraged healthy living by selling her acai bowls and hummus under the name AI PONO LIVING.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 23 at Mana Christian Ohana Church (Kahilu Town Hall); memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.
She is survived by her son, Kaholomoana Teves; father, Wayne Teves; sister, Jasmine Quitevis; brothers, Rob Quitevis and Chad Matsumoto; Grandmother, Clara Matsumoto and Maui ohana, numerous hanai ohana.

Irie Hiapohokumakamae Emma-Gene Akemi Auwae, 4 months, of Kurtistown died Jan. 12, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. She was born Sept. 3, 2015, in Hilo.

Hiroko “H” “H.N.” Nahakuelua, 89, of Kailua-Kona and formerly of Papaaloa died Jan. 8, 2016, at her family’s residence. Born June 12, 1926, in Hakalau, she was a dairy helper, retail clerk for the Papaaloa Community Store and member of Laupahoehoe Congregational Church.

Cornelia “Nelly” Ver Guerrero, 83, of Kapaau died Dec. 31, 2015, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born Feb. 15, 1932, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a butcher for Nakahara Store, past member of the Kohala Senior Citizen Club and St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church.
