Grant Kingsley Warner, 52, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 9, 2016, at his residence. Born June 12, 1963, in Melbourne, Australia, he was a business owner, electrical engineer, graphic artist, professional skier and a gardener.

Perlita Defiesta
Perlita Cabanting Defiesta, 65, of Keaau and formerly of Kaunakakai, Molokai passed away on Dec. 19, 2015, at Castle Medical Center in Kailua, Oahu. She was born April 9, 1950, in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She was a retired Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut factory worker in Keaau and also worked at Funk Seeds International on Molokai as a cornfield machine operator.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 19 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 7 p.m. Friends may from 8 to 10 a.m. Jan. 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Celebration of Mass is at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Nemecio “Piciong” Caspillo. She is survived by husband, Virgilio Defiesta of Keaau; sons, Fernan “Vern” (Kim) Caspillo of Kalihi, Oahu and Paul “Maji” (Marilyn) Caspillo of Kaneohe, Oahu; daughter, Teresita “Tessie” (Howard “Chuck”) DeCosta of Heeia, Oahu; Seven grandchildren; brothers, Juanito “John” Cabanting of Molokai, Hermanio Cabanting of Las Vegas, Felipe Cabanting and Alvaro Cabanting of Lanai, Hawaii; sister, Pacita Corpuz of Narvacan, Philippines; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Michael James Dixon, 57, Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 28, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in London, Ontario, Canada on Sept. 29, 1958, he was a landscaping service manager and reserve firefighter.
Services will be at noon on Jan. 23 at Big Island Game Fishing Club south of Honokohau Harbor.
He is survived by his father, James Dixon of Santa Barbara, Calif.; mother, Joan Dixon-Kaspersetz of Sacramento, Calif.; brother, John Dixon of Santa Barbara, Calif.; sisters, Sherry (Greg) Horton of Roseville, Calif., and Cindy (Rich) Reimer of Carmichael, Calif.; life partner, Patty Rycroft of Hana, Maui; numerous nieces and nephews.

Allan Ventura, 76, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 31, 2015, in Honolulu. He was born Sept. 7, 1939, in Hawi. Allan worked in maintenance

Robert Morris, Jr.
Robert John Morris, Jr., 62, of Ocean View, died Jan. 4, 2016. He was born Sept. 5, 1953, in New York, N.Y. Robbie lived in Kapaa/Hanalei, Kauai, for 30 years. He loved to surf and for a living, painted houses and ran a surf-charter business.
He is survived by his brothers, Geoffrey Morris of Ridgefield, Connecticut, Paul Morris of New York, N.Y., and John Morris of Bay Head, N.J.; and sister Joan Morris Barry of Pheasant Beach, N.J. In lieu of flowers, please wear sunscreen. The family has planned private services.

Judith “Pazo” Ann Carvalho, 77, of Pahoa and formerly of Honolulu died Jan. 7, 2016, at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired city bus driver on Oahu.

Mabel Kyong Ei Cho Sanga, 86, of Keaau passed away Jan. 10, 2016, at Pohai Malama. She was born in Honolulu on Oct. 19, 1929. She was a retired housekeeping supervisor at the Moana Surfrider Hotel.
