Tsutomu Kaneshige
Tsutomu “Tom” Kaneshige, 87, of Paauilo died Jan. 4, 2016, at the Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Ookala, he was a retired garage overseer for the former Hamakua Sugar Company and part-time bus driver and automotive maintenance person for Laupahoehoe Transportation Company, member of the Paauilo Hongwanji Mission and a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.
Private services held. Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).
He is survived by wife, Julia Kaneshige of Paauilo; daughters, Jill Chavez of Waikoloa, Jan (Mike) Warnecke of Kailua-Kona; sister, Kiyoko Keamo of Honolulu; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
Vivian Tyson
Mrs. Vivian Choy Tyson, 87, Ocean View, died Jan. 10, 2016, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Honolulu on July 14, 1928, she was a housewife and bartender.
Private services will be held.
She is survived by her sons, David (Susie) Bellow of Milolii, Bruce (Wanda) Bellow of Hilo, James (Mirasol) Tyson of Ocean View, Russell (Debbie) Tyson of Nevada, and Kenneth McEnroe of Oahu; daughter, Mokihana (Ricky) Rodrigues of Oregon; brother, Michael (Diane) Choy of Los Angeles; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Gladys Chun
Gladys Oi Lam Chun, 95, of Hilo died Jan. 6, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 3, 1920, in Kalihi, Oahu, she was a retired registered nurse and head nurse for the former Hilo Memorial Hospital, past board member for Hawaii County Employees Federal Credit Union, member of the retired nurses association.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Jan. 20 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo for a 10 a.m. celebration of life. Burial will follow at the Hilo Chinese Cemetery. Family request casual attire be worn.
She is survived by daughters, Lynette Chun, Erlene (Jim Cummins) Chun; sons, Loren Chun, Reuben Chun; sisters, Elsie Perkins, Rosalind (Wilfred) Chun; brother, Calvin (Nancy) Lum; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Chad Avery Cabral Chaves, 41, of Hilo died Nov. 17, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 27, 1974, in Kailua, Oahu, he was an employee of Onomea Orchards and Ohana Banana Co and member of the New Hope Christian Fellowship.
