The U.S. Attorney’s office announced Latunia Pohahau’s 210-month sentence on Wednesday.
Pohahau pleaded guilty last year to conspiring to distribute 20 pounds of nearly pure meth.
Prosecutors say he offered to sell meth to someone cooperating with the Drug Enforcement Administration for $15,000 per pound.
Prosecutors say he delivered 10 pounds of meth to that person and agents later found another 10 pounds in the vehicle he was riding in.
Meth, commonly referred to as ice, is considered the drug of choice in Hawaii.
